It’s hard to believe that in less than four weeks (25 days to be exact, but who’s counting?) we’re going to be sophomores. Freshman year has gone by so quickly; unfortunately, this wasn’t the case this past week. This past week felt like an eternity. Thankfully, Snapchat was by my side the whole time, chronicling every moment via downloaded Snapstories and screenshots.
Monday, April 11
Took the Charm City Circulator to Little Italy for a floor mate’s birthday. Of course, a trip to Vaccaro’s was a given.
Tuesday, April 12
I had my third Bio midterm on Wednesday, so I spent a good portion of my day/night at Brods.

SOHOP!! I was a Host Advisor (HA) this year, along with JHU_Rahul, which was super fun. As an HA, we got to eat dinner with a group of admitted students, take them to the culture show at Shriver, and pair them with their host for the night. Then we all went over to the Rec Center for the Night Festival. There were games, cotton candy, henna, a giant obstacle course, food, a ginormous cake, and awesome prizes. A bunch of RAs also had night programs after Night Fest, including: Smoothie Night, Bark Painting, an Ice Cream Sundae Bar, Bubble Tea, Quesadilla Night, Cereal Bar, and Midnight Breakfast. I didn’t get much sleep that night because we got back to the room pretty late, and I also had a lab report due the next day. R.I.P. sleep.

Went to the Pi Beta Phi Formal with my roommate at the Hard Rock Cafe. Had I known there would be an unlimited supply of mozzarella sticks, wings, and artichoke dip, I might have considered joining a sorority.

Spring Fair was upon us, and the entire campus had transformed overnight. White tents lined the Gilman quad, showcasing vendors’ arts and crafts to curious passerby. There were inflatable bounce houses for kids, a petting zoo, horse rides, bands performing on the Beach, and students hanging out with their friends. People from the surrounding neighborhoods would come by campus, and it really felt like a community. And last but NEVER least, the food vendors that occupied the Freshman Quad were plenty busy. Unfortunately, I had frisbee sectionals the next day so I was in the lib finishing up my homework for the weekend because I literally had no time to do anything. Thankfully, my friends made me go on a 12am Maxi’s garlic knot run with them as a study break.

Frisbee Sectionals at University of Maryland, College Park! Got back on campus just in time for a Pad Thai dinner. I proceeded to try to do work but ended up falling asleep.
Sunday, April 18
Woke up bright and early for the second day of Sectionals. We got back just in time for dinner before the food trucks started packing up, and I finally got to try the critically acclaimed Fried Oreos – would 20/10 recommend.
