Over the summer, you will be assembling your class schedule for the upcoming fall semester. If you are interested in learning more about the Hopkins experience or find yourself in need of an extra credit than I highly recommend taking Intro to Hopkins 101: Arrive & Thrive.

Over 10 weeks of the semester, students in this freshmen-only 1 credit course are exposed to topics including learning strategies, academic planning, and campus culture.

In the past few weeks, we’ve had a Q&A with Hopkins seniors, made a 4-year academic plan (which is really helpful during academic advising meetings), and heard from the professor of the highly coveted Hopkins Memes for Lost Hopes & Dreams course based on the Hopkins Facebook meme page.

The TA for the course, who works at the Rec center, was inspired to create a Self-Care Weekly Challenge, of which I’m already reaping the benefits. One of the challenges: Sleep for 7-9 hours per night for a minimum of 3 days out of the week.

Behold the proof of these astonishing occurrences:

In the weeks to come, I look forward to learning about career planning/networking, finding jobs/internships, and going on a field trip to a surprise location in this course. If you make the decision to come to Hopkins, I hope you also find room in your schedule for this awesome course!
