What advice would you give to an incoming student?
A lot of people tell you that when you go to college you should try new things, like join a new club, meet now people, go explore the city, or whatever. I think that learning to balance that and saying no sometimes keeps you sane. Know your limits, you don’t need to try absolutely everything.
What’s your biggest struggle right now?
I’m planning a career fair with a bunch of my peers and trying to balance that with my schoolwork has been a huge struggle. We have meetings every other day for hours and it’s hard to balance that with work… But I’ve been enjoying it so much. It’s bringing out the leader in me, which is something I’ve really missed. Planning an event, being able to bring together of all of these different components feels great.
What’s your favorite part about Hopkins?
I feel as if Hopkins is the right size for people… it’s not big, it’s not small. You don’t know everyone, but there’s about a two degree separation between everyone. You’ll hear amazing things about people and it’s incredibly easy to get to know them and to talk to them about what they’ve done or what they’ve experienced. Everyone here has done something that’s amazing, they’ve done things that I hope to accomplish in my life, and I want to learn from these people.
