How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I attended the JHU informational meeting at my school and instantly fell in love with the engineering programs. I decided to apply ED once I felt that JHU’s emphasis on research, small class size, and campus vibe would be perfect for me.

Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “Minimum effort, maximum benefits” is a silly phrase that I began to say my junior year of high school. To me, it means efficiently using your time and energy to achieve the results you want while still leaving room to relax. This applies to all aspects of my life, whether it comes to my relationships or academic life. It really helps me live life to the fullest!

What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Do your research. Educate yourself on what the college values and what opportunities they offer. Make sure to look at the curriculum for the programs you are interested before making your final choices.

What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? Being able to finally study what I want, surrounded by people who are also stoked about what I love. I feel like the biggest difference between high school and college is the extraordinary selection of courses that are available to you. Hopkins absolutely delivers when it comes to having phenomenal classes in a wide range of subjects, giving everyone a chance to study what they enjoy.
