How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I discovered Hopkins by looking online at the best universities in the United States. I decided to apply Early Decision because when I visited I fell in love with the campus and knew that I wanted to be there for college.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My godfather.
If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) Intro to Organization.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “I’m going to do what I want to do. I’m going to be who I really am. I’m going to figure out what that is.” -Emma Watson. While this quote is simplistic, it’s very direct and confident even in the face of uncertainty. To me it means that you have full autonomy when it comes to your life. This quote has given me self-assurance when I have been nervous or anxious about big events in my life.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? To have confidence in their abilities and accomplishments.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? I’m excited to meet new people and be next to the water!
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? Hamilton.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? Research!
If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? I would get chocolate ice cream with Otto Von Bismarck.
If you could give your junior-year-of-high-school-self one piece of advice, what would it be? Push yourself because you are more capable than you think you are.
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? Visit the Inner Harbor!
