How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I’ve always known Hopkins as a great university for kids that wanted to be a doctor. As I got closer to making my college decision I realized that Hopkins had a great reputation for engineering, so I decided to look into the school. When I visited Hopkins I was told all about amazing research that was going on at the campus and since then I’ve been following all the great things Hopkins engineers have been getting to do. I wanted so badly to be apart of that community. I loved Baltimore and just the school’s campus itself. I couldn’t think of a better place to go to college, so I decided to apply Early Decision because I knew Hopkins was the place for me.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My mom.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Be open to every school you go to. Take in all information and by the end you’ll know which school feels the most right for you. It may take a lot of thinking, but you’ll get there.
What fictional character do you most relate to or most closely represents you as a person? Tris Prior from Divergent.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? Martial Arts and club soccer.
Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for _________________.” My supportive family, teachers, and friends.
If you could give your junior-year-of-high-school-self one piece of advice, what would it be? Stick with it because in the end hard work will pay off.
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? To mostly discover what the city is all about. I’ve always lived close to New York City, so I’m excited to see how Baltimore differs and how great it is in its own way.
