How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I originally wanted to pursue biomedical engineering, and quickly found that Hopkins had the top program, so I looked more into the school as a whole. I eventually discovered chemical and biomolecular engineering and all of the opportunities waiting in Baltimore. When I visited for the first time, I loved the mix of historical buildings and the modern city around them.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Find a school where you will be challenged, but where you can also see yourself making lifelong friends and memories. Explore as many options as you can, and even if you think a school is a reach for you to get in, don’t underestimate yourself and put in all of your effort so that the reach school becomes your target school.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? I have been dancing for the past 12 years, so I want to get involved with Hopkins’ Indian dance teams. I want to continue exploring my heritage through the arts and meet other people who share the same passion for dance.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) I see myself working in a research facility at the NIH. Ever since watching a documentary called “First in Human,” I learned about the extraordinary projects that go on at the NIH, and I want to be a part of a research team that helps patients find a cure to their diseases.
