How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I attended Engineering Innovation, a summer program that was very impressive and valuable, in my sophomore summer and got the chance to study and live in the Homewood campus for four weeks. That experience made me realize JHU’s great amount of resource to help students pursue their dreams, both in and outside of academics. Therefore, I chose to apply to JHU for Early Decision.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Do more research on the school before selecting a dream school. Once determined, stick with it regardless of what people say.
What fictional character do you most relate to or most closely represents you as a person? Ian Donnelly from the movie Arrival best represents me. Ian is a physicist who is given the duty to decipher the alien’s language and study their technology after their arrival on the Earth. I also have his desire of exploring the unknown knowledge and wish I have the intelligence and opportunity to do so.
What book, album/song or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? A TV show called Fringe.
