How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I want to go into premed, and I’ve always known Johns Hopkins to be on the very top of the list for best undergraduate schools with premed programs. Also, the opportunity to do research is another reason Johns Hopkins is my first choice.

Who is the most influential person in your life? My mom, she always encourages me and puts me on the right path.

How has your family background or life experiences shaped you? I came to the US from China since 2014, in my freshmen year. I would say the four years without my parents have taught me how to be responsible, independent, and always hopeful.

What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? That I became a Blue Jay!

What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? Meeting new friends and starting a new chapter of life.

What do you hope to get involved in on campus? Research programs, and some programs relating to arts.

If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? I’d get ice cream with my grandpa who has passed away. And I would get us my favorite green tea ice cream.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? At an excellent residency program at some hospital! (Cleveland? Boston?)

If you could give your junior-year-of-high-school-self one piece of advice, what would it be? Get in the school spirit, and enjoy high school while you still can!
