How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? It was not until March of my Junior Year in high school that I visited Hopkins campus. I had never thought of applying to Johns Hopkins, let alone applying Early Decision. But it only took one visit to change my mind. What intrigued me most about Hopkins was not just the integration of different disciplines, or the numerous research opportunities available, but it was the environment that the students and the faculty had created. Hopkins is unique to me for its collaborative environment — where students across different disciplines have something to learn from one another and a student’s success is the collection of different people from different backgrounds working together. While I always knew that I would have to work hard in college, Johns Hopkins gave me the comfort and possibility to explore all my interests.
Who is the most influential person in your life? My younger brother, Anuj.
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? As a lover of Food Network, I am really looking forward to visiting Duff Goldman’s bakery, Charm City Cakes, that was featured in the show Ace of Cakes. I would love to take a cake decorating class to refine the skills that I picked up from 17 years of binge watching baking shows! More generally, I am looking forward to taking trips to the Inner Harbor, catching a Ravens or Orioles game, visiting the Edgar Allan Poe House and experimenting with cuisine!
