How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? Following a summer job at a long-term care facility, I decided that I wanted to pursue a major that would enable biological research. With a simple online search, I discovered that Johns Hopkins offers one of the nation’s top undergraduate neuroscience programs. This, in combination with other factors, such as Johns Hopkins’ numerous Nobel laureates and Hopkins’ commitment to innovation through research, made it clear that Johns Hopkins was the place for me.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “Radical simply means ‘grasping things at the root.'”-Angela Davis Authentic and sustainable activism is impossible to achieve by beating around the bush. Rather, change is brought about by addressing complex issues a simple way: directly. This quote, along with its author, motivate me to approach life’s obstacles, big and small, with a straightforward attitude.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Dream big! Apply to the colleges and universities everyone else is too scared to consider. You’ll never know if you never try.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) In ten years, I see myself developing not a treatment, but a cure for Multiple Sclerosis, a debilitating neurological disease.
