How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I began looking at colleges during my sophomore year in high school and Hopkins was the first school I visited. As soon as I stepped on campus, I knew that this was where I wanted to study after high school. Fast forward two years and I end up getting offered to play for the JHU baseball team, so having the chance to attend my dream school while being able to play baseball solidified my decision to apply early.

Who is the most influential person in your life? My dad is the most influential person in my life because he is my number one fan and has taught me to be the best person that I can be.

How has your family background or life experiences shaped you? My parents never had anything handed to them, so they raised me to not take anything for granted and to do my best in whatever I chose to do.

What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? My best piece of advice is to visit the school to get a feel for the campus and atmosphere before you apply. College is an important part of life, and you want to make sure that you have as much information to make the best decision. Touring the campus and talking to the students allows you to see everything the school has to offer, from the pros to the cons, which you can then make an informed decision from.

What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? I cannot wait to meet the variety of people that Hopkins has to offer and to live the urban lifestyle. I have lived in the suburbs my whole life, so being in the city is a completely different experience that I am looking forward to.

What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I am excited to explore the Inner Harbor and go to lots and lots of Orioles games!
