How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I first discovered Hopkins through my cousin, who is currently a sophomore at JHU and could not stop raving about his love for the school. I later got in touch with the track coach, and on my visit to campus I got to see just what my cousin was so excited about.
If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) Economics of Sports
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “Success isn’t owned. It’s leased. And rent is due everyday.” This quote helps me to remember not to take anything for granted and to finish each day with a sense of purpose and accomplishment.
What fictional character (Hermione Granger, Holden Caulfield, etc.) do you most relate to or most closely represents you as a person? Hobbes (Calvin and Hobbes). Hobbes enjoys the simpler side of life, and just living in general. He is often the voice of reason during Calvin’s schemes and has enough of a conscience for the two of them put together, feeling more guilty about wrong decisions or acting more sympathetic towards others. Hobbes also always gives off the perception of being wise, even when he has little idea of what he is talking about.
What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? High school track and field state championships
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? Intramural Sports, Cooking Club, Sports Analytics Club
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? Yankees games at Camden Yards
