How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? On the day I entered high school, I heard of JHU, a prestigious research institution. It’s also a brilliant school for biology and medical stuff, which turned out to be my interest throughout the years. Intrigued by a presentation of an AO from JHU, I searched a lot about the school, the majors, the professors, and research opportunities…The more I learned about Hopkins, the more lovely things about it popped out. Talking with my counselor and parents, I made up my mind: Yep, JHU is the place to go.

If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) Bioethics.

Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? Be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second rate version of somebody else. — Judy Garland It always calms me down to follow my heart and be myself when the majority disagree with my point of view.

What fictional character (Hermione Granger, Holden Caulfield, etc.) do you most relate to or most closely represents you as a person? Sponge Bob. (ARE YOU READY?) Like him, I am good-natured, optimistic, and enthusiastic with a good sleep. But sometimes I try too hard to make others happy with my unlimited optimistic cheers… (Only among really good friends)

What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? I launched a citywide campaign against counterfeit drugs to help the elderly, which might help societal and governmental attention on companies like Quanjian Group, a company that touted all kinds of miraculous products.

What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? Getting to know brilliant people from diverse cultural backgrounds, living with a roommate, and trying new food.

What crazy invention would you love to design? A flash drive that can be inserted into my brain and transfer all I want to learn in a second.

If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? Strawberry or Vanilla ice cream with Sheldon Cooper in the Big Bang Theory.

What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I can’t wait to get to know new people, visit museums, try local foods, and most important of all, Explore JHU!!!
