How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I first learned Hopkins when I read news about The Johns Hopkins Hospital. I have long cherished the idea that medicine is one of the main directions towards which I will devote my life. Since then, together with my own research, JHU impressed me with its rigorous academics and its dedication to applying knowledge to real-life issues. It’s a sense of believing that the school’s atmosphere and spirits best fit me that eventually let me decide to apply Early Decision.

Who is the most influential person in your life?  My mom who teaches me the way to improve myself and reflect and the courage to carry on.

How has your family background or life experiences shaped you? My family perpetually motivates me to step out and look for the further land. It’s a sense of being modest but constantly improving that has been planted in my mind by my family.

What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? I think the best way to search a college is to read through its official website. Find what you focus and spend more time with care into that part. Apart from this, it also helps if you attend the summer programme. Just try your best to focus, feel, and reflect.

What crazy invention would you love to design? I’d like to design a dream-making machine where people could “live” in their pre-designed dreams forever. It’s literally equal to a designed life in reality.

Or, perhaps a little cliche, time machine. I’ve always plumbed into the depth of past and memories. I love the past since all the beautiful histories seem undefined and undeniable.
