How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? After participating in CTY’s various online and summer programs starting in 7th grade, I had the opportunity to visit campus and fell in love with Hopkins! I was blown away by the unparalleled opportunities to pursue both my current interests and discover new passions alongside people who will be the next movers and shakers of the world! When the time came to apply to colleges, deciding to apply ED to Johns Hopkins was easy because I knew there was no better place to spend my next four years growing into the woman of impact I hope to become someday!
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “There’s nothing that’s impossible, there’s just things that haven’t been possible yet” Every day this quote reminds me there is no limit to what can be accomplished! With hard work, dedication, and an open mind anything is possible! Each time I read it, I am always reminded me to be courageous and go for my dreams!
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? When you are looking for your next place to call home, make sure to gather as much information as possible and keep an open mind! Whether it is visiting campus, combing Google for hours, or talking with a current student, never pass up an opportunity for more information because you never know what experience might give you that “Ah ha!” moment of where you are meant to go.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? I am excited to be surrounded by driven, tenacious, collaborative, and inspiring peers who are going to be the next change makers in the global community! If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? I would love to get cookie dough ice cream with Malala! The opportunity to talk with her about how to have courage and tenacity in the face of adversity while also discovering her favorite ice cream flavor would be a moment to remember!
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? With such a wide range of interests from student government to running to research to martial arts to service to sewing to baking to eating, I am looking forward to exploring a little bit of everything at Hopkins!
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I am most excited to experience snow! Coming from California, I have never had the opportunity to live in snow and I am looking forward to all the learning curves and adventures snow will entail!
