Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “You know, the ancient Egyptians had a beautiful belief about death. When their souls got to the entrance to heaven, the guards asked two questions. Their answers determined whether they were able to enter or not. ‘Have you found joy in your life?’ ‘Has your life brought joy to others?’” from The Bucket List.

What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? Become immersed in the social, cultural and sports atmosphere of this great city!

What do you hope to get involved in on campus? I would like to participate in clubs and extracurricular activities that complement my formal education, like soccer and Latino social and cultural clubs!

How has your family background or life experiences shaped you? I am the eldest son of two Argentinian parents. I was born in Evanston, Illinois but lived 11 years in Florida, 1 in Maryland, 3 in Argentina and a little over 2 in Colombia. This defines me as a multicultural and flexible to adapt to varied situations. I believe that a balanced life is the key behind any successful person, so I have spent my summers with a mixture of traveling, learning more about science, and giving back to the community. I spent my summers traveling around the world: I went to Argentina to see my grandparents, to the US to reconnect with my old friends, and through much of Europe to get to know my family’s roots.

What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? (big or small!) Runner up South Florida rugby championship in 2014. Playing rugby has made me less timid, and it allowed me to form deeper connections with people. I am not afraid to voice my opinions or take up the role of a leader.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) Leading a research team that focus on improving the quality of life for those who really need it: people with birth defects, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, etc.
