How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision?
There isn’t a specific moment when I discovered Hopkins but I often saw the university featured in “new research shows…” kind of articles. Hopkins’ reputation as a world-class research institution combined with recommendations from friends currently at Hopkins to apply ED compelled me to apply.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you?
“Becoming an adult is probably the dumbest thing you could ever do.” — Calvin & Hobbes (ofc Calvin says this). I guess in a traditional sense, becoming an adult involves maturity and responsibility but to me, it means to have a logical approach and to stop learning the way children do. This quote reminds me to repeatedly say, “why” to the point of irritating others, just as I did as I child. It reminds me to keep my mind open and to preserve the curiosity I had growing up.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus?
I hope to join Zinda, Hopkins’ Bollywood dance team. I’d also like to join a research lab during my freshman year. Other than that, I’m open to joining or starting something interesting.
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life?
Bryce Vine and Friends kept me going this past year, especially through college apps.
If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get?
Harvey Specter and probably vanilla ice cream. I’m not really sure what he likes or how much I would get roasted by him for picking a fun flavor so I’d stick to something plain.
