How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I discovered Hopkins through one of their school visits, and I have aspired to attend ever since. After visiting campus, my decision was further solidified. My tour guide was incredibly kind and motivated, and her diverse schedule showed me that I could study very different disciplines at Johns Hopkins. I found that the atmosphere at Hopkins was competitive, yet relaxed, which I highly admired. Research also highly appeals to me, and at this school I have many opportunities to pursue it. Plus, there is so much to do in the city of Baltimore after a hard day of classes!
If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) Deconstructing Hogwarts
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? Outliers
If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? Khalid, cotton candy blizzard with brownie bites.
Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for _______________________.” Marsha Reid, my cross country and track coach
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) I see myself in the MD PhD program at Johns Hopkins University. I live in an apartment in the heart of Baltimore, with my husband and two dogs: Popo the pug and Snowball the pomeranian. Each day, I interact with my patients and contribute to new, meaningful research. At the end of the day, I am exhausted, yet content with my life when my head hits the pillow at night.
