How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I discovered Hopkins through one of my closest friends. Even though I live in Maryland, Johns Hopkins had never been something I ever considered. Luckily, my friend’s enthusiasm and love for the school intrigued me and drew me in. Over the summer before my senior year, I got the opportunity to intern at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab and I got a feeling for what I can do in the world of medicine, without becoming a doctor. I knew I wanted to apply Early Decision as soon as I finished my official tour. Everyone I met on campus had so many unique research experiences to talk about; and all the little communities, especially in the engineering department, held so much passion that I knew my own ambitions could prosper along side them. Luckily for me, the girl who introduced me to Hopkins also got in. Now, I couldn’t be more excited to spend my next four years getting even closer with her and everyone I’ve yet to meet!
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I absolutely love the National Aquarium! I’ve already made plans to go on “Dollar Day” next year.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? In a perfect world I would love to start a color guard at Hopkins! But either way I’m definitely helping out with the science olympiad competitions.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Use all your resources and don’t judge a book by its cover!
What crazy invention would you love to design? I would love to be the creator of the latest smart contact or even artificial eye tissue.
