How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I discovered Hopkins when I was applying to fly-in programs, and I learned about the JHU HOME program. Though I wasn’t accepted, I received the generous fee waiver that allowed me to apply to Johns Hopkins, which allowed my dream to come true. I’m actually not Early Decision, I deferred my freshman year in 2019, and I am very much looking forward to joining the class of 2024!
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “it takes courage to grow up and become who you really are” – e.e. cummings.
To me, it emphasizes the importance of the self- acceptance, which I lacked for so long.
How has your family background or life experiences shaped you? My battle with anorexia has shaped me into the woman I am and given me the desire to work with individuals with eating disorders as a career.
What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? (big or small!) Proof Number 5 on the NYSMA competition in 2017. I can’t believe I got to take part in that amazing team who went to States with me. DUSO for life.
