How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I discovered Hopkins at a college fair in junior year. At that moment, I knew that Hopkins was the best school for me due to its commitment to intellectual exploration and discovery, as well as the vast amount of opportunities to get involved in research and the community. That’s why I applied Early Decision; I knew Hopkins was the place to be for the next four years of my life.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? The college search process in of itself should be an intellectual journey of self-discovery; you need to find out what you want in a learning environment, since you will be living at the college for the next 4 years independently. I know you probably have heard this piece of advice a million times, but if you genuinely know why you like/love a specific institution, then your essays and interviews will go a lot smoother and you will come off as a stronger candidate during the application process.
What crazy invention would you love to design? A cheap, safe, portable nuclear fusion reactor; these things could more or less solve all of our energy problems.
Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for _________________________ .” I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for my mother; she’s the strongest willed woman I have ever known. Even if we don’t agree on a lot of things, I still thank her for pushing me to be my absolute best.
