How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I discovered Hopkins actually in middle school, and then once I did research on it, and came to visit twice on campus, it just felt completely right. I didn’t get the same excitement I got at Hopkins at other schools I visited, and it became pretty clear to me that JHU would be my first choice college. Not to mention, the public health program here is absolutely incredible, so I am really excited!

What do you hope to get involved in on campus? I really hope to get involved with some mental health organizations, whether it be servicing students on campus or Baltimore residents. I also really want to do study abroad, pursue research, and might join club or intramural tennis!

What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? I think visiting the actual campus brings so much clarity to whether a school is right for you. I visited Hopkins twice, and it was just pretty much a confirmation to me that this was the school I wanted to go to. And plus, hearing about Hopkins through the eyes of a student who goes there is honestly really helpful too. I think the main thing to know is that this is not only place you will be studying at for 4 years, but also your home for the next 4. You want to make sure that you like the atmosphere and the campus vibes!

What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? Music has always been a huge part of my life since I was little. There was one Madonna album, called Celebration, that my sister and I listened to on repeat, and I think this specific album had so much impact on my life because it’s what got me into music. It was basically the stepping stone for me to really delve into the world of music. Now, music is so integrated in my daily life that I could not live with out it!

If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? I would want to get ice cream with Beyoncé. I am a huge fan of hers and absolutely love what she stands for. I would also get cookie dough ice cream (best flavor to exist).

Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for ________________________.” I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for the people who helped me learn how to pick myself up every time I fell.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) Working for the World Health Organization or in upper management at a hospital!
