How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision?
I discovered Hopkins through its number one nationally-ranked public health program. After looking into the school, I fell in love with almost every aspect: the ample research opportunities, the student life, the supportive community of peers and professors, and the actual location of the campus.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus?
I hope to get involved in the Hopkins Symphony Orchestra, as I have played violin from a young age and playing music has always been an outlet to express myself as I have matured.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students?
Find out what your passion is. While it might be easier said than done, colleges are always accepting of people who are clearly passionate about what they want to study, even if you may have limited experience.
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life?
Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh is my go-to book: the badly-drawn comics reflect my sense of humor and her ability to capture human emotions through them has gotten me through some tough times.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!)
I see myself working for either the CDC or the WHO as an epidemiologist.
