How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply? The first time I heard of Johns Hopkins University is when I was taking my high school tour during grade 9, and the guiding student introduced herself as a JHU student. I was mesmerized by her charisma and intelligence. Since then, I decided to apply for JHU not solely because of her, but because of learning/internship opportunities and student diversity that JHU provides.
Who is the most influential person in your life and why? My father is the most influential person in my life; he is my role model, my best friend, and supporter of my life.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) Ever since I was young, I sometimes dreamt about the two Koreas reuniting. However, it seems that there hasn’t been much progress even if it has been 70 years since our division. Therefore, I want to dedicate myself to unite North and South Korea by becoming part of UN, or South Korea’s Ministry Of Foreign Affairs.
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? One of my favorite songs is “Moon, 12:04am” by “OFFONOFF”. Even though it did not give me a profound influence on my life, it has always helped me to control my anxiety and stress, when I am overwhelmed by all kinds of burdens and emotions. It is the only song that I am not fed up with.
