How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? Hopkins was always one of my top choices given my academic interests and the fact that it was an East Coast school with a competitive varsity water polo program. I first knew Hopkins was right for me after watching the water polo team play in a tournament in 2018. I felt an immediate connection when I met the coach and the players. I have had an opportunity to visit Hopkins on three separate occasions, including my official visit for water polo. During my visits I was able to get a great feel for the academic, athletic, and social aspects of the school. Those experiences cemented my decision, and I verbally committed this past July. Once I verbally committed, I received a likely-letter from admissions and was encouraged to apply Early Decision. As an athlete, it was great to commit and finalize my college plans so I could move on from the recruiting process knowing that I chose the right school to further my academic and athletic careers. I am looking forward to being a Blue Jay! Go Hop!
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? Vienna by Billy Joel: taught me that things work out the way they are supposed to and to enjoy the journey.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? To win a Division III championship in water polo and to make the most of the opportunities Johns Hopkins provides!
If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get? Kobe Bryant; it would be great to hear firsthand the “mamba mentality” and how he was able to sustain such a high level of play for such a long time. I would get cookie dough ice cream
