How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? I first stepped onto the JHU campus while attending a Science Olympiad competition and had a good feel for the community and social environment. Running from building to building, I saw the collaborative workspaces, the many resources provided to students, and how students could spend their free time around campus. As I conducted my college research, I became enthralled by the open curriculum and research opportunities Hopkins had to offer. I value growth through exploration and Hopkins provides the perfect foundations to thrive as a student, regardless of what you study. My parents always encouraged me to surround myself with ambitious people, and with that, I decided to apply to Hopkins.

Pursue it without any fear!

What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? Everyone that has visited or lives in Baltimore hypes up the food and the arts around the city. I’m excited to try new foods and broaden my palate as well as visit museums and find street murals!

What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Visit the schools that you are looking into and ask as many questions as you can about student life, educational opportunities, study abroad, etc. It helps to talk to students currently attending the school as well because they will provide the most honest reflection about their experiences.

What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? (big or small!) The ongoing progress of becoming more self-reflective and developing healthy habits (both mental and physical).
