How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision? While I was in 7th grade, I read a book called Gifted Hands by Ben Carson. It detailed his journey through med school and his job as a pediatric neurologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital. After researching more about the hospital and the university, I learned about the classes and research opportunities that JHU offered. I fell in love with the campus and knew that Hopkins would provide me with the best undergraduate experience possible.
If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) Inside the mind of a master procrastinator: A class on how to procrastinate effectively
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “Just keep swimming”- Dory from Finding Nemo Ever since I was a child, I hoped to pursue a job in the medical field. The quote from Dory reminds me to keep persevering to make my dream of becoming a neurologist a reality.
What crazy invention would you love to design? A portable device that can auto correct anyone who says “John Hopkins”
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? I come from the Texas, so I’m definitely excited for the snow during the wintertime in Baltimore
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) In 10 years, I hope to see myself working as a resident in a renowned hospital. I also hope to save enough money so that in the future I can move to a Third World country and provide life-changing aide for those in need.
