How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply Early Decision?
I met a young pianist five years ago and she later became a student at Peabody Institute. That’s when I first heard about JHU. I wanted to pursue my interest in sociology while keeping learning the piano. After doing my school research and visiting Hopkins, I figured out that the Peabody Double Degree Program was perfect for me, and that’s why I decided to apply ED.
Who is the most influential person in your life and why?
My mother and my current piano teacher. Without them, I would not become a great pianist today.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you?
May we pass through the storm until we see the sun. I believe that if we can work through all the difficulties in life and try to maintain a positive mindset, eventually we will be able to receive the results that we want. And after four years of hard-working in high school, here I am in Hopkins 🙂
If you could get ice cream with one person (real or imaginary; dead or alive), who would it be and what kind of ice cream would you get?
Kate Liu (pianist). I would get coconut and pineapple flavored ice cream that you will find in the little streets of Prague.
