How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply ED? I discovered JHU during my college search in junior year, and when I went on an in-person tour and open house (pre-COVID), I fell in love with the campus, the passion I saw in all the students, and the professors’ enthusiasm. I also wanted to pursue research further in my college career and beyond, and knew Hopkins was the best place to do it.
If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) Behind the Scenes of Doctor Who: The Science of the Space-Time Continuum.
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I am most excited to get involved with the surrounding community, but also to explore all of the vegan food options around the city.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? When you visit a college (if you are able to), make sure that you like the vibe it gives off. That is where you will be for the next four, maybe more years if you decide to pursue graduate school. Go to campus while the students are there and try to ask a few of them what they like most and what they’re passionate about.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? Getting to design my own dorm room!
What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? (big or small!) Perfecting my vegan pancake recipe during quarantine!
Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for _____________ (person/place/thing/experience/etc.).” All the mentors who believed in and supported me.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) Pursuing research on zoonotic diseases, and living in a big house with lots of animals and love. Possibly beginning to work in a veterinary practice and establish my own.
