How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply ED? I discovered Hopkins through my counselor who mentioned it. I went to an information meeting at my high school and absolutely fell in love. I knew I really wanted a research focused school with a liberal arts core curriculum and thought Hopkins fit that perfectly. I knew then it would be a great fit and thought to apply to ED to really secure that Hopkins could be my future school!

What do you hope to get involved in on campus? I really want to get involved in research and social advocacy programs. Being that Hopkins is in a city, I know there will be plenty of opportunity to create social justice change and work with hundreds of knew people.

What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? I would tell high school students to challenge themselves as much as they can while also trying to keep a balanced social life. I found it really important to stay true to who I am by taking hard courses and pushing myself academically, but also allowed myself to relax and be with friends when weekends came around.

What fictional character do you most relate to or most closely represents you as a person? I think I’m a lot like Elle from Legally Blonde! It might sound a little silly but I think I can come off as a little too interested in non-academic workspaces but when it comes to it I’m also super committed to school and trying to create a better future for myself.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) I really want to be a lawyer and work for the Southern Poverty Law Center to try and create change in the regions it serves. I want to combine my interests in public health, history, and law to work with people who are less fortunate than I am and to expand my general knowledge of not only social justice issues but also how life differs in different parts of the world.
