How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply ED? I discovered Hopkins through close friends of mine who thought I had the capabilities to pursue such a sought after University. I applied because Hopkins had one of the best programs in regards to my field and I really liked the stories that my friends told me about Hopkins and their experiences on campus.
Who is the most influential person in your life and why? I don’t have one person; rather, I look at multiple people. The most influential people in my life are my friends and the people that I hangout with in school. I try to surround myself with like minded individuals and try to find people who are even smarter than me. If I am the smartest person in the room then I will go and find another room.
If you could teach one class at Hopkins, what would it be? (already exists or invented by you!) I would teach a class of trying to love one another and not judge people. Apparently it is harder than it sounds. If the world did that, it would be a much better place to live in.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? Work now to reap the benefits in the future.
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I’m excited to just visit a new place entirely. From the common streets, to the common people, to the new accents. I’m ecstatic about everything really.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? I hope to get involved in speech, like radio, or maybe something to do with art.
How has your family background or life experiences shaped you? My family background definitely hardened me and strengthened my spirit.
What crazy invention would you love to design? I would love to create a medicine or a nano-bot that has a specific job of somehow replenishing telomeres.
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? I would have to say the Bible because it governs everything that my family does.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? Meeting new people and getting ready to learn about my favorite sciences.
What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? (big or small!) Being myself and not changing anything about me except if its to better myself.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) I see myself with a PhD. With my team we are on the edge of discovering a new way to enhance the human body. This discovery would change the way that humans think about life and would open doors that people would not even think of walking up to.
