How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply? Hopkins was kind of my parents’ dream school if they had had the chance of going to college in the U.S. and it became my dream school after I went on a campus tour my sophomore year of high school.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? “No flower blooms without wavering.” It’s the title from one of my favorite poetry books and it brought me comfort whenever I struggled or felt bad about myself.
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? Make new friends and find hidden gems that we can binge in at random hours.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? Don’t just base your search on acceptance rates, prestige, or peer pressure. Contact any alumni and current students, go on tours, attend information sessions, and really get to know the school! But also remember to shoot for the stars, you’ll never know if you don’t try.
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? The anime movie A Silent Voice. It is one of my favorite movies and it completely changed my perspective on redemption, maturity, and the meaning of friendship. It even helped me restore some of my own failed friendships.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? I really just want to live inside of the George Peabody Library, it seems like heaven on Earth.
What is the accomplishment you’re most proud of? (big or small!) Last week, I made a batch of mochi and not one of them fell apart!

Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) CSO and co-founder of a sustainable cosmetic company like Function of Beauty, hopefully living in one of those houses right on water. You know the ones that you wake up in and just see the water rushing next to your window?
