How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply ED? I first discovered Hopkins by seeing the university’s publishing division, JHU Press, numerous times while reading scholarly journal articles for class or term papers. I decided to further explore the university and learned that there was a heavy research culture, an interest I also share. While looking for universities with strong biomedical engineering programs, I found JHU once again. Hopkins then became my top choice. These reasons, coupled with one of the most diverse, passionate, and collaborative student bodies in the world pushed me to apply Early Decision.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? Definitely research. I had the opportunity to conduct chromosome research my junior and senior year of high school so this is something I wish to continue to do at the university level.
What’s your best piece of college search advice for high school students? My best piece of advice is to dream big! You never know what will happen.
What crazy invention would you love to design? One of my biggest pet peeves is having items in my pockets. Thus, I hope to one day design an invention that combines my phone, wallet, and keys into a single chip that’s implantable.
What fictional character do you most relate to or most closely represents you as a person? Naruto Uzumaki.
Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for _____________ (person/place/thing/experience/etc.).” My family and teachers.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? (dream big!) Starting my residency!
