How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply? I’ve lived in Maryland my whole life, so I’ve always known about Hopkins. Marylanders take pride in Hopkins being located in our state. I decided to apply because I love the freedom Hopkins students have to explore whatever major they want. As someone who is very undecided, it was nice to know that I wouldn’t have to decide my future until I get the chance to discover what I really enjoy.
Is there a quote or motto that inspires you? What is it and what does it mean to you? My motto is “what is meant to be, will be” because it reminds me to take a step back, and realize that somethings are simply out of my control. When I felt overwhelmed during this college application process I would remember that everything is working out the way it’s supposed to. There’s no point stressing over the future, so sit back and enjoy life 🙂
What are you most excited to do in Baltimore? I am excited to explore the city. I live close to Washington, D.C. and I used to take solo trips to museums on the weekends. It was so fun to just listen to music and walk around. I imagine Baltimore will be the same way.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? I am so excited to take some of the super interesting classes at Hopkins. There are so many different areas I want to study like international studies, literature, and medicine.
Complete this sentence: “I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for _____________ (person/place/thing/experience/etc.).” I would not be here on this journey to Hopkins if it weren’t for my the support of my family throughout this process. Their love and support provided me with the confidence I needed to even apply to such a selective school.
