How did you discover Hopkins and why did you decide to apply ED? I was invited to a Hopkins Open House at the beginning of my junior year and fell in love with the environment and the endless opportunities I would be granted if I were to enroll in such a school. From that day, I attended numerous info and spotlight sessions both on campus and through online webinars (due to COVID). I applied ED because I knew whenever I envisioned myself in college, it was always at Hopkins with organizations such as OLE and A Place to Talk and the extensive research ranging in vast varieties of subjects. I wanted to go somewhere where I would be motivated by classmates to do better, surrounded by students who have a common goal: To be successful and make the most out of their college experience.
What do you hope to get involved in on campus? Definitely OLE, JHU Baila, and A Place to Talk! Ever since first finding out about Hopkins, I have been excited about someday participating in such organizations.
What book, album/song, or TV show has had a profound influence on your life? Jane the Virgin has reshaped everything about me. I first started the show as a means of mother-daughter bonding time but it soon turned into lessons of morality and life in general. I will always love Jane and the crazy telenovela complications that come her way as well as the Latina and female pride that came with the show.
What are you most excited for about college and/or coming to Hopkins? The people! Within the span of days of having been accepted as a Blue Jay, I met a great number of incredible people that come from all over the world and carry different perspectives and backgrounds. I can’t wait to meet the people that will help me get through the next four years and possibly many more.
