It’s getting cold, infinity scarves are back in, and Starbucks is selling pumpkin spice lattes, which can only mean one thing… It’s Fall!

Confession: this is my first actual Fall. I’m from Puerto Rico, which means Summer-weather all year long. That’s why it was so shocking to me to suddenly stop and realize that the leaves were changing color. Woah, when did that happen? It seems like just yesterday we were wearing shorts and moving into our dorms. Now we’re almost two months into the semester, it’s cold enough to make flip flops unthinkable, and “I’m going home” means coming back to Hopkins.

Without me noticing, my life is changing like the leaves, and much like in nature, the change has been to something wonderful. My classes have opened my mind to a new world of ideas. The campus is now as familiar as the palm of my hand, but still as beautiful as ever. My friends are my closest family. Everything is changing, and it’s exciting to once in a while stop and notice it happening.

With that said, the change in season has brought some pretty great new things!

Like scarves.

"Am I doing it right?"

“Am I doing it right?”

And Pancho, the Fedora Wearing Pumpkin.

"This is what all the pumpkins are wearing this season."

“This is what all the pumpkins are wearing this season.”

And Pumpkin Spice Lattes.

"I can stop whenever I want, I promise."

“I can stop whenever I want, I promise.”

And even Pumpkin Spiced Pancakes.

“Um yes, please”

So stop, look at the leaves, grab a latte and enjoy this great season!
