Meet the makers and drivers behind the Hopkins Baja club

Who are we?

We are an undergraduate off-road racing team that competes in three annual international collegiate events, sponsored by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Each year we design, build, test, and drive a new, single seat, 4WD race car with a top speed of over 30 mph.

What do we do?

Our team members meet weekly and do lots of hands-on work! We also host drive days, in which everyone on the team gets to drive the cars, and social events to foster a sense of community around the program. We offer a wide variety of ways to be involved, spanning engineering work, business development, electronics and instrumentation, and professional skills. We also have an extensive, close-knit alumni network, and the team offers a great way to get practical experience sought by many employers.

“I absolutely love this organization. Anyone with any interest in design or working with their hands should absolutely join. It’s opened up so many doors for me.”
