Hey y’all!

I haven’t been on here in so long, and I am SO sorry! Things have gotten so busy, but this semester I’m determined to be consistent with posting here.

I started my first day of classes yesterday, and it’s hard to imagine that it’s my last first day of classes at Hopkins….because I’m a SENIOR now! Time really has flown by, but I’m really looking forward to making the most of my last year.

This summer was crazy busy! I spent all summer at home back in St. Louis which was really nice because I was able to spend time with my family and from my friends from home. I had an amazing opportunity to intern for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) this summer. I worked in the Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), and was involved in a lab that studies cholesterol metabolism disorders in the pediatric population. The entire internship was virtual which was definitely not something I’m used to, but I learned so much and am so grateful for the experience. This summer also consisted of MCAT studying, so I was pretty busy through the whole thing, but it feels so good to be back on campus now!

Also…the last blog I posted, it was actually a video of a day in my life in quarantine. Well, since then I’ve been thinking, and I decided to start a YouTube channel! Yay! I figured this would be a good way to document my experiences, and also have something to look back on. in the future.

I plan on posting once a week, so be sure to check that out and subscribe if you’re interested in that! To start things off, I decided to vlog my first day of classes yesterday, and have linked that video here. I plan on keeping the rest of my blogs on Hopkins Insider separate/about different things, but I may still link some of my videos at the end of the post. Please feel free to subscribe and reach out to me in the comments. I’m so excited to continue sharing my journey with you all (and now on video too!)

Until Next Time,
Neha
